Star Clusters Photo Gallery! (1)

Hmm..Let's take a break from all those previous photos of Comet Holmes! Here are a few photos of star clusters (and nebulae!) taken around Orion recently! Enjoy!

As mentioned in the previous post, the comet is expanding and fading at the same time, thus the comet looks real fuzzy and blur in photos. This time, from the previous 25x magnification, we changed to 12x magnification so as to ensure that the comet can be seen with the larger field of view! In these photos, the comet is just beside the very bright star located at the middle.

Note that the comet is fading, and may require more powerful light-gathering instruments for a more obvious and better display.

Comet 17P is at the top-right hand corner in this photo. It looks very fuzzy.

And here is the second batch! The photographs in this post are of 2 dates: 12 Nov 2007 (23:45; near midnight) and 13 Nov 2007.

For this batch, there were a total of 714 photographs taken due to good weather, and these are some of the excellent ones. Happy viewing!

Lately the weather at night isn't too promising. Therefore there are very little photos taken of Comet Holmes, as there is only a very short gap of time to take the photos. After that few minutes, the clouds will start gathering.

Despite the short amount of time, there are still some nice photos taken!

Take note that the comet is forming a tail! The bright portion is elongated and taking the known shape of a comet. (Compare with previous photographs.)
